Family Commitments:

Bridges Homeschool Resources Policies provide clear expectations of our support program. We want to keep everyone safe, experience testing and academic resources with support, and ultimately to have an incredible homeschool experience. Bridges Homeschool Resources is open to all kinds of homeschooling families in Washington and Oregon. We reserve the right to refuse services to any family or student, for any reason. Each of the policies listed below were created by BHR. Additional policies may be added in the future as other situations arise.

I have read the policy available at the bottom of this website page and agree. I know that the BHR would be very willing to discuss any of these issues at any time and I can reach them at JileneModlin@gmail.com. BHR expects that families have read the policies and are supporting the program through communicating in a timely manner, paying for services on time, showing up for testing prepared and on time. Non-compliance will result in future non-registration for advising, consultation, or testing.

Registration, Enrollment, & Attendance:

Registration is a rolling admission, priority given to families engaged within in the previous 12 months.

  • Registration fees are non-refundable

  • Testing/advising refunds will be granted up 72 hours prior to session. 24-72 hour cancellation can be rescheduled. Less than 24-hour cancellation, no refunds are granted after this point.

  • Families adhering to the policies requirements will have first opportunity to re-enroll for the following year. Families will automatically continue their placement or have priority to select alternative services.

  • Students late or missing more than 3 classes in a row, without informing BHS, will be considered withdrawn. Please contact JileneModlin @gmail.com if you plan to hold spots. Families may request to re-enroll for the remainder of classes if any spots are available at that re-enrollment date

Parent Cooperation Expectations:

Parents are expected to follow instructions given by the BHR Educators and staff, non compliance or defiance will result in the family’s removal from the program.

  • Parents are expected to follow all the BHR rules, model appropriate behavior, cease from gossiping about other families, support fellow students, and avoid discriminatory behavior/comments/actions.

  • Parents are homeschooling teachers and inappropriate behaviors in the program are expected to be taught and guided from the home, to support the BHR program.

  • Parents need to address concerns or issues to the director. Rumor creating or slander against staff, BHR, or other families will result in termination of the family’s participation in the program.

  • Parents that argue with the BHR administration over the program rules, decisions, or expectations will result in the family’s removal from the program.

Visitors:

  • Potential students or guest classmates will participate at the discretion of the BHR director. Please arrange this ahead of time with the BHR director

  • At no time during testing are students to supervise younger siblings while parents are out of the room. Parents may not use testing/advising sessions as childcare for additional siblings

  • Parents sitting in testing sessions with younger siblings must keep the younger siblings quiet and non-disruptive to the testing/tutoring/advising process

Late Policy:

  • Students late by more than 10 minutes will be considered missing the session. Services will be charged as usual. Testing may be rescheduled and charge for a second testing/advising session.

  • 24-hour cancellation is a courtesy. Less than 24-hours will be charged as scheduled.

  • Extreme Emergency Excused Absence is limited to once per year per family

  • Please contact by text for train, traffic, & bridge delays; we will try to accommodate as long as this does not impact other student schedules.

Behavior: For students with an PDP/IEP or needing support, please let the BHR Director know before advising/testing begins. The director has extensive experience with special accommodations and have many creative solutions to put in place before issues arise.

Behavior Issues:

Generally, students will be redirected. Additional intervention options:

  • Option 1: Students needing additional redirection for misbehavior will have BHR director notified. Director will discuss issue with student and inform parents of the concern.

  • Option 2: Behavior Disruption Plan may be created to follow the rules or adjust schedule for testing or advising. Parents will need to attend testing and sit near their child.

  • Option 3: Behavior disruption may result in removal of student from the environment. Testing will be rescheduled and attempted again at a later date.

Any flagrant behavior that is disruptive to the safety of another student/staff/parent/visitor may warrant immediate removal and cancellation of testing/advising at the discretion of the director, at any time.
